I got into graffiti when I was nine years old and in the third grade. At that time Greg “Craola” Simkins was fourteen and probably had a ten year head start on me. When the internet rolled out he was one of the first Graffiti artists I was inspired by.Fast forward 24 years later and I’m still in awe.Greg, If your out there I would like buy one of your original sketches yesterday.
Greg “Craola” Simkins was born in 1975. He hails from Torrance California which is a little south of Los Angeles. He started drawing at three and like most of us started drawing cartoon characters. His original drawings were illustrations from The Chronicles of Narnia, The Phantom Tollbooth, and Watership Down. Each is still a reference in his artwork.
He went to school in California and attended the California State University, Long Beach in 1999.
His first job out of college was working for clothing firms prior to moving to the video game industry where he worked for Activision on Tony Hawk 2X. In 2005 he became a full-time artist.
